Présentation
After 4 years of restoration work on the Hôtel-Dieu, its layout and scenography, the Cité du Vitrail will officially open its doors to the public on Saturday 17 December 2022.
The Cité du Vitrail is a cultural site of the Department of Aube.
Visitors will discover a permanent exhibition of unique stained glass windows from different periods, functions and styles. This accessible and sensitive tour aims to dust off the image of stained glass and to address its many stylistic, historical, technical and iconographic aspects.
From 17 to 31 December 2022, admission to the Cité du Vitrail (including the Apothicairerie) will be exceptionally free. Numerous activities and demonstrations will be on the programme.

Act 1
The completely redesigned presentation of the collections in this Act 1 of the reopening of the Museum of Modern Art allows visitors to (re)discover the collection, from the second half of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century, from the Realists to variations on Cubism, including the so-called "Fauvist" works and the collection of African and Oceanic art.
A prefiguration space on the ground floor traces the history of the collections, the museum's leading artists and the prefiguration of the second part of the permanent exhibition, on art from the interwar period to the end of the 1960s.
The museum's garden now offers a new walk, a trail of sculptures opening onto contemporary art.
