The Creney-based theatre company “Guillemigelé” presents a contemporary comedy by Sandrine Campese: The Condé Dinner. A funny, fast-paced, and quirky historical comedy that takes us behind the scenes of 17th-century French haute cuisine and pays tribute to the extraordinary figure of François Vatel! Synopsis: The Grand Condé, having fallen from grace, hopes to regain the favor of his cousin Louis XIV by inviting him and his court to his Château de Chantilly for three days of festivities. Two thousand place settings must be ready in record time. To organize this sumptuous reception, Condé can count on the cream of the crop of head waiters: François Vatel. But Vatel, flanked by an unruly team, is in for a few surprises. Between underhanded schemes and twists of fate, the preparations prove more tumultuous than expected… Will the Grand Condé return to favor? Will Vatel succeed in meeting the challenge? And at what cost?
