It’s deer rutting season! This unique event only happens once a year. To mark the occasion, the Friends of the Park association invites you to share this highlight of nature during an evening of discovery. Led by Roland Raynot, this evening will focus on observing deer and the night sky. The program includes: – Meet at the Croît viewpoint in Val d’Auzon for a landscape interpretation and a bit of history… Continue by car to the parking area at the Temple Lake outflow canal near L’Etape in Mathaux. – A brief overview of the formation and creation of the large lakes. – Possible observation of the deer rut (if it hasn’t ended) from the Temple dam. – An aperitif provided by the association and a picnic lunch (bring your own). – Introduction to naked-eye astronomy for beginners, weather permitting.
