Grands Lacs de Champagne

Présentation

Come and enjoy a friendly get-together at a film screening at the Maison pour Tous! Join us for a showing of Gilles Vernet’s documentary, “What if we looked up? A class facing screens,” which runs for approximately 50 minutes. In a school in Paris’s 19th arrondissement, Gilles, a teacher for 15 years, observes with concern the increasing presence of screens in his students’ daily lives. He decides to tackle the problem head-on by guiding his fifth-grade class throughout the year, exploring the role of screens in our lives, culminating in a week-long digital detox trip. The roles of parents and teachers, our relationship with time and nature, and the positive aspects of certain digital uses will all be explored in this journey. Over the course of the year, a wonderful dialogue develops between Gilles and the children, revealing their critical thinking skills. After the screening, you will have the opportunity to share your impressions and opinions for approximately 45 minutes, before concluding with a friendly gathering. As places are limited, it is advisable to reserve your tickets with the Maison pour tous (Community Center).
