Présentation

Brienne-le-Château is deeply intertwined with French history. The town, once known as Brienne-Napoléon, is designated an “Imperial City.” It hosted two emperors, including Napoleon I. In 1814 and 1940, it was ravaged by two devastating fires that significantly altered its appearance. Let yourself be captivated by this town so dear to Napoleon’s heart during a 1.5-hour guided tour. You will appreciate its listed monuments: the castle, the town hall, the market hall, and the former Royal Military School. In this town steeped in history, you will be surprised to learn that many famous figures have passed through Brienne! Reservations are required for groups of 10 or more during the off-season, and for individuals every Friday at 2 pm in July and August. Contact the Tourist Office for more information.
