A few days before opening night, a twist of fate incapacitates the theater troupe. They can’t go on stage! In a last-minute scramble, replacement actors are called in, but with so little time to prepare, they arrive on the eve of the performance far from ready. Their challenge? To perform a play set in the late 19th century, where the widowed and nearly penniless Baroness de Bonpoil dreams of restoring her family’s prestige by arranging the marriage of her son Romain to Hortense, the daughter of the Count de Labrosse. But the real drama doesn’t unfold in the plot, oh no… On opening night, everything spirals out of control. Unexpected events arrive with a bang, and the clumsy actors flounder in an avalanche of catastrophes. This joyful chaos gives rise to an explosion of unexpected gags, offering a show that is both hilarious and unpredictable. A three-act play by Vivien Lheuraux.
