Présentation

The 3rd edition of the Spring Festival will take place from May 31 to June 6, 2026. The Spring Festival offers classical music concerts in heritage sites, some of which are little-known, revealed by the light and symbolism of stained glass, the festival’s central theme. Jacques Bernaert began his musical studies at the age of ten. Admitted to the Paris Conservatory in 1974 in the class of André Navarra, he won First Prize in 1978. That same year, he earned his teaching certificate in cello. A professor at the Beauvais National School of Music, he founded a cello octet in 1983, with which he performed Pierre Boulez’s MessagEsquisse alongside Mstislav Rostropovich. He also pursues a solo career, regularly performing Bach’s Suites for Solo Cello on Baroque instruments, interpreting the great concertos of the Romantic repertoire by Schumann, Dvořák, and Saint-Saëns, and creating numerous contemporary pieces such as Eric Tanguy’s Interludes for Solo Cello. He also embraces chamber music, performing in piano trios and string quartets. Join us at the chapel of the Château de Crespy-le-Neuf to discover his world. #grandsevenements2026
